I did my checkoff today and while I made an A, it did not go any way I had envisioned it. I dropped stuff, forgot to tie my gown but caught it very early on, forgot to put retractors on my Mayo stand (which I had trouble dressing anyfuckingway and lost a point), had to use the damn stepstool to even see inside the patient, and I forgot to do my closing count before he started to close up the patient. ARGH! I didn't cry but I wanted to because I was so mad at myself for doing stupid stuff.

I called DC to tell him how I did and had to leave a message. Sometime between 10:15 am and 1 pm when I picked him up for lunch, he had bought me flowers and balloons and left them in my room as a surprise.

When you find a jewel like him, you hold on with both hands.
