All I will say about the whole bin Laden thing is - pics or it didn't happen. There is one photo of a mangled, bearded, dark-skinned head making the rounds on the interwebz that could be any jackass off the street. If we're all distracted with watching the bin Laden magic show, then perhaps we won't notice local gas prices going up to $4 a gallon by the end of the week.
In other news, Nigel and I got out in the flowerbeds in front of the apartment about 3 hours ago to dig channels through the dirt and mulch so the 5 or so inches of standing water could drain off. Our gutters are either too clogged to do any good so the rain pours off the building into the flower beds in sheets or they work properly but the spouts dump directly into the same flooded flowerbeds. The channels seem to be working, though, because the water is only about an inch deep now.
Nigel has had a hard initiation into the working world these past 3 weeks. DC went on vacation for a week and a half in the same time period so he's also having a hard time readjusting to the work world. At least one works days and the other works nights so they're not both crazy at the same time. Heh.
